An 81 year old Massachusetts grandmother had an unexpected visit from state authorities, who confiscated a marijuana plant from her property.
Currently the Massachusetts State Police and the Massachusetts National Guard are underway with what they call an “eradication operation,” to remove marijuana plants. The raid is a joint operation that uses spotters to detect the plants.
During one of their missions, a plant was detected at the home of Margaret Holcomb.
Holcomb said that while she was not home at the time, however her son and daughter were when they heard a helicopter in the yard, followed by a knock at the door with police saying they would be uprooting the family’s marijuana plant.
Margaret Holcomb had one single marijuana plant tucked away in some raspberry bushes. She said that she uses the herb to help ease her glaucoma and arthritis, as well as to help her sleep at night.
But while medical marijuana is legal in Massachusetts, Holcomb is not a card holder herself.
Regardless, she sees the uprooting of her plant by state authorities is a violation of her Fourth Amendment rights and she is not going to step aside.
To which I say GO GIRL!!!
Stick it to the man and light one up.
