With the advent of Tivo and the proliferation of cable dvr, product placement is fast on the rise in television and even film as well (though tivo wouldn’t be the cause for film). With money being spent in the billions it was great to have Jay May on to talk about product placement and integration.

However, before we got to Jay May we showed a location stunt clip put together with the boys from Action Factory Stunts. I won’t give it away but fire was involved, that is all I will say. Check out the stunt on the show and let me know how I did and then check out Action Factory at: http://www.actionfactorystunts.com .
Jayson Dumenigo, Trampas Thompson, Joe Ross, and Eric Linden you were all great to work with! Thanks again.

An interesting observation about product placement and indie filmmakers is some low budget filmmakers have unrealistic expectations over the amount of money they can raise through product placement. While others under value the project and or don’t even try. Maybe you can get some money, or maybe you can get goods, locations or something that saves you money and or production value.

And not to be left out, we hit on the evolving opportunities for placement on the internet.

With the information he provides, Jay May gives us indie filmmakers hope and offers possibilities; and, that’s the most we can ask for! The rest is up to us!

Jay May is a warm interesting guy and if you’re a film fan or a filmmaker, I think you’ll enjoy hearing his stories and learning about what he and his company, Feature This, do.

PS One correction on the show I said that Ken Jeong (from the film Knocked Up) was a past guest of Filmnut… Ken was a past guest of another stream.tv show Merrilwood.
