Did you know that one out of every four albums bought on Amazon is counterfeit?!

Chinese counterfeiters are overrunning the site with fake disks that often cost nearly as

much as the official versions and are increasingly difficult to distinguish from the real

goods.

The RIAA launched an investigation in August to see just how extreme the problem truly

is. And after placing 194 CD orders based on top search results, 44 CDs were fakes.

What’s even worse, however, is that Amazon themselves fulfilled 18 counterfeit CDs and

not individual sellers.

Most of the products can be traced back to one manufacturing plant in China.

Annnndddd while Amazon is trying to figure out a process to identify these pirates and put

a halt to hosting illegal items… I’m out here trying to get a cheap album!
